A coarse risograph print in a cathedral of stacked boulders on a deep blue-black ground taking about a third of the frame, every tone built from a dense fierce stochastic noise that runs edge to edge with the dots packed tight and touching right across the frame. One colour becomes the next through a broad field of shifting dither density, shape edges break into ragged noise rather than cutting clean, the lightest value is a printed light rather than the paper stock, and tiny bright specks scatter through the dark like stars. Scarlet, petrol teal, pale gold and oat white, centred and near-symmetrical, with a doorway standing half open in the stone embedded inside it, flowing parallel contour lines raking through the foreground terrain, and one small dark figure seen in outline, standing completely still and dwarfed by it. Four layers back to front: the blue-black field, the broad dithered mass of the monument, the surreal element inside it, then a fine top pass of raking lines and bright specks. The print runs to all four edges. Visionary and reverent with a faint eeriness. The camera is locked off and holds completely still for the whole shot; only the air and the light move. One continuous take, held to the end, the grade and the framing staying exactly as described for the whole shot.
