A print-studio open-house poster, two-ink riso on a flooded chartreuse running to all four edges with a slight registration shift between the inks and visible grain in the flood: every line set in condensed caps filled in one flat colour and carrying a hard outline in a second, full width, hand-tight, six lines at six different sizes stacked hard against each other and set almost touching between them — two lines of bold condensed caps arced around an oval, one curving above it and one curving below, the oval filling the middle third as a flat ellipse holding a horse, a dog or a bull cut into flat brush shapes, a horse inside the ellipse on a scarlet field with a fine black grid ruled over it, sharp blackletter stems carrying high-contrast serif terminals, the letters overlapping and interlocking so the word reads as one linked ornament set enormous beneath it and a certificate box — one large rating letter in its own ruled cell, with three lines of legal caps in the cell beside it, two rows of short items separated by interpuncts under that, and Tuesday 11 November, doors 7pm, 64 Dale End B4 7LN along the very bottom edge. Packed to all four edges, every element a flat ink. Generous, maximal and a bit shouty.
