A poetry-evening poster flooded edge to edge in deep pink, printed from a hand-pulled linocut block and reading as cut rather than drawn: every letterform and every figure gouged out with a blade, the strokes of uneven width, swelling and narrowing along their length, each edge a short straight chop meeting the next at a slightly wrong angle, the curves built from four or five chops, the outlines breaking open and skipping in a place or two where the blade lifted, small white nicks and chatter marks left inside the solids, the corners blunt. The title PATIO HONDA across the top in pale lemon block-cut caps, the letters of unequal width and height and leaning at slightly different angles, with a small dated subtitle beside it. Under it a band of flat crimson block-cut figures: a potted plant, a standing lamp and two chairs, every shape cut in straight chops and left flat. A pale lemon address line forced-justified with the word spaces opened to several letter widths so it fills the measure exactly. An enormous pale lemon block-cut date filling a full band across the middle. A two-line crimson dedication beneath it, also forced-justified with open word spaces, and a free-entry line with a bracketed condition. Two hand-cut badges along the foot: an oval with initials at the left, a dotted circular mark at the right. Three flat inks, every edge a blade cut.
