An overhead view of a pond surface completely covered in lily pads, the water between them rendered flat vivid vermilion red like a sunset reflection pushed to pure colour. The pads in desaturated teal-blue and slate green with mottled patches of ochre and gold decay on their surfaces, edges slightly curled and torn. A handful of closed lily buds rise on thin dark stems from the red water, each with a small mirrored reflection. Dense repeating circular pattern filling the entire frame edge to edge, no horizon, posterised colour treatment with coarse grain like a heavily processed film scan, square crop, painterly but photographic.
