An experimental theatre poster on a flat black sheet: very tall narrow caps filling the full width, set so tight the counters nearly close set in condensed caps set past the point of collision, each letter overlapping its neighbour and the whole word running off both edges in white, large, and repeated five times from the top edge down to the bottom at exactly one size, evenly spaced, every repetition starting at the same left margin. Upper right, a laughing head cropped so only the top of it enters the frame from below, a head with hands pressed to both cheeks reduced to a single hot pink duotone with its halftone grain clearly visible, and a hand-cut burst of ten long needle-thin points radiating out of it, overlapping the type and reaching most of the way across the sheet, so the repetitions of the line that meet it pass behind the subject and come back out the other side. Friday 14 March, doors 8pm, 42 Hoxton Street N1 6LP. The type crisp and clean, the duotone coarse, black white and one hot ink.
