A diving platform and the changing rooms beneath it built as a stepped complex of aubergine purple, dark and warm cotton velvet upholstery over every surface, the nap turning light as the form curves, filling the frame to all four edges and stacked down a still water channel carrying the whole wall as a mirror, seen from above and across. A dozen barrel-vaulted roofs stepping down the hill, each vault the width of a room. Dark cypress and one palm stand between the volumes, and one small round pool of blue water sits at the bottom of the slope. Warm open shade with the sun just outside the frame, the olive velvet, the nap turning lighter as it curves holding at full strength through the shade and every shadow a deeper version of it. The hue runs over the floor, the walls and the ceiling as one continuous surface. Clean, the surfaces smooth, the one optical event a soft halo around each lit source. Mediterranean and fortified, housing built all at once as a hill town.
