A bold two-ink woodcut broadside, deep oxblood on pale mint, both inks saturated and set at maximum contrast. The oxblood is laid down as massive solid shapes covering as much of the sheet as the paper does: an enormous radiant sun with a face, and a moth beneath it. All the line work is cut out of the solid ink so the mint shows through as the line, fat rays and bands as thick as the gaps between them, the thinnest still a finger's width. Every ink boundary is eroded and crumbly, breaking into coarse speckle where the ink failed to take, loose flecks thrown out across the paper. The paper between the motifs is left completely clear and the sheet carries drawn marks alone. Archaic, occult and deadpan, symbols presented as fact.
