Every form a soft-edged sprayed mass dissolving into speckle at its edges, a bright amber rim where the mass meets the dark ground, coarse spray stipple across the entire frame. A humpback whale breaching clear of the water, amber against bottle-green dark. Mythic and ominous, the animal an apparition in an enormous hostile atmosphere, elegiac and played completely straight. The lower band an amber field of drifting grain, the upper band near-black. Amber and bottle green alone, every form sprayed rather than drawn.
